At SSAB, the
Crane Maintenance Planner
plans and manages preventive maintenance, outages, and unplanned repairs of cranes throughout the facility. This role requires communication with other planners, operations, and contractors to ensure the safe and efficient operation of cranes and lifting equipment. This role requires the skill to develop a plan for the continual improvement of crane reliability while adhering to all safety protocols.
Main Responsibilities
Develop detailed job plans for crane activities, including personnel, materials, tools and equipment specific to those repairs. Review requests and prioritize tasks based on safety, production impact, and equipment criticality. Collaborate with facility managers and other technicians to coordinate repairs and upgrades. Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse personnel to ensure the availability of routine and critical spares. Create and manage preventive/predictive maintenance schedules using Maintenance Connection. Maintain accurate records of maintenance history, equipment reliability and work order status. Monitor work execution and update plans based on feedback and performance data. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical manuals. Assist with maintaining compliance with EPA regulations. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, SSAB company policies, and environmental policies. Complete required training within designated timeframes and attend all required meetings. Understand and support the company's goals and values and adhere to company, department, safety, quality, environmental, and ethics policies and procedures. About You Required
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial crane maintenance. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems. Good computer skills including Microsoft 365 proficiency. Organizational and time management skills. Excellent understanding of industrial safety protocols including LOTO and fall prevention. Good communication, collaboration, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Preferred
Technical training or associate degree in mechanical systems. Familiarity with PLC's and automated control systems. Electrical and/or mechanical background with knowledge of motor controls etc. Machining or welding experience Our Offer
