Our client, a leading food manufacturing facility, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA Supervisor to ensure their products and processes meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily QA operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements (FDA, FSMA, GFSI), and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of our food safety systems and product quality across all stages of production.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily QA activities to uphold product quality and food safety standards.

Monitor production lines for compliance with GMP, HACCP, and internal SOPs.

Lead investigations and resolution of non-conformances, customer complaints, and quality issues.

Coordinate sampling, testing, inspection, and release of raw materials, in-process, and finished products.

Support food safety programs including allergen management, sanitation, traceability, and supplier verification.

Conduct internal audits and assist during external audits (FDA, third-party, customer).

Train, coach, and mentor QA technicians and production staff on quality and food safety protocols.

Maintain accurate and organized QA documentation, including batch records, COAs, deviation reports, and audit findings.

Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Production, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment on quality expectations.

Oversee calibration and maintenance of lab and QA testing equipment.

Assist with developing and reviewing product specifications, with a focus on food coloring and confectionery formulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field (preferred).

Minimum 3 years of QA experience in a food manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of FDA regulations, HACCP, GMP, and GFSI standards (e.g., SQF, BRC).

Experience with root cause analysis and CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions) processes.

Proven leadership and team management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QA systems such as LIMS and ERP platforms.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with strong attention to detail.
