A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage day-to-day AP functions supporting multiple community and grant-funded programs. This individual will process invoices, code expenses to the correct programs, and ensure timely and accurate vendor payments through QuickBooks Online (QBO). The role requires maintaining organized, audit-ready records and collaborating closely with accounting leadership to reconcile transactions and support funding compliance. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in accounts payable within a nonprofit or government-funded environment, exceptional attention to detail, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple recurring payments and deadlines.

Required Skills & Experience • 3-5 years of hands-on accounts payable experience • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO) or QuickBooks Desktop (QBLL) • Ability to code invoices accurately to the correct program or funding source • Strong organizational skills with experience managing high volumes of vendor payments • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain audit-ready documentation • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with accounting leadership

Nice to Have Skills & Experience • Prior experience in a nonprofit, federal, or grant-funded environment • Exposure to government billing or compliance reporting • Familiarity with vendors supporting facilities or shelter operations (food service, maintenance, security, laundry, etc.) • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
