Job Title/Position: Guest Services Representative I - Seasonal Reports to: Senior Manager of Guest and Member Experience Status: Part-time Schedule: Wednesday-Sunday, 8:45am-4:15pm, November 17, 2025 - January 4, 2026
(Monday-Tuesday, December 22-23, 2025 and December 29-30, 2025 required)
Pay Rate: $13.00/hour Seasonal Status
We are looking for a select group of individuals to join our team as Guest Services Representatives for the busy winter holiday season. This seasonal role offers a chance to be part of an exciting museum environment, providing exceptional service to our guests during this limited time period. JOB SUMMARY
Guest Service Representatives I are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the museum, exhibits, experiences, and events, ensuring the highest standards of guest service are maintained. As the first point of contact for guests, they provide hands-on learning opportunities and are integral to the overall guest experience. In addition to operating exhibits, they actively contribute to the museum's educational mission, utilizing inquiry-based informal STEM education to engage guests with scientific concepts. Guest Service Representatives foster a dynamic and interactive learning environment by encouraging curiosity and sparking discussions around STEM topics to inspire a deeper understanding of science. Candidates should be outgoing, enthusiastic, passionate about the museum's mission, and driven to succeed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Engagement & Education
Provide exceptional guest service by engaging guests with respect and enthusiasm, ensuring a welcoming and informative experience. Lead engaging conversations about exhibit content with diverse groups, adapting communication and content to suit the age, background, and interests of each guest for a personalized experience. Apply informal science education techniques based on team training, offering hands-on demonstrations and interactive activities to deepen guest understanding of exhibit content. Respond promptly to guest inquiries and needs, tailoring interactions to be both educational and engaging while enhancing the overall learning experience. Exhibit Operation, Maintenance & Cleanliness
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot exhibits, ensuring they are powered on, fully functional, and visually appealing throughout the day. Perform regular checks and minor repairs, reporting any technical issues and submitting trouble tickets as needed. Ensure exhibits and surrounding areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained, presenting a professional and inviting environment for guests. Monitor exhibit readiness, keeping displays in optimal condition and ensuring all areas are safe, tidy, and visually engaging. WORK ENVIRONMENT

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2-3 years previous customer service experience in a museum or hospitality setting is preferred. Other Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities
Experience using inquiry-based approaches to learning. Experience giving tours or presentations in an educational setting. Previous work in a museum or cultural institution setting is preferred.
