JOB SUMMARY:
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, Welding Equipment, Dispensing Equipment, conveyor systems and production machinery. Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment, including cleaning and lubricating.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following:
Provide their own hand tool to complete routine/minor repairs.
Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Trouble shooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments such as PLC's.
Repairs or replaces defective mechanical/electrical parts.
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
Lubricates and cleans parts and equipment.
Starts devices to test their performance.
Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder and metalworking tools to make or repair parts. Makes recommendations for required parts for repairing equipment.
Cross training in existing processes and new processes.
Facility maintenance including buildings & grounds.
Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED);
Three to five years related experience and/or training.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience along with supervisory experience.
