Forklift Operator - Second Shift

Position Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to load, unload, move, and store materials. This position performs basic equipment checks, maintains accurate inventory records, and ensures a clean and organized work area. The Forklift Operator may also assist other departments as needed to support overall plant operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive a forklift in an efficient and safe manner
Do simple maintenance checks on forklifts
Load and unload all types of trucks and materials
Operate stretch wrap machine
Stack and unstack pallets
Keep legible records
Keep work area neat and clean
Pull rework and reassemble
Work in other departments as a fill-in if needed
Enter inventory data into inventory tracking system

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. of product occasionally Work performed in a plant environment Exposed to any number of elements (heat, steam and cold) Frequently during the day getting on and off of fork truck Must be able to drive a forklift in an efficient and safe manner Must be proficient in reading and math. Must be able to work without supervision Must be able to follow directions Computer literate for data entry Must be trainable for RF Scanning
