Responsibilities

Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic sonographic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.

Essential Functions • Works closely with Radiologist to perform diagnostic sonographic exams. • Demonstrates professional judgment in service delivery and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care. • Delivers appropriate care, recognizes patient conditions, and ensures successful completion of procedures. • Complies with allstate and federal regulations applicable to each modality. • Adheresto Orlando Health mission statement and strategic imperatives. • Assesses the patient's physical condition and age-specific needs. • Provides instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results. • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient's clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation. • Positions patient, equipment, and associated devices. Manipulates technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation. • Assesses diagnostic imagesfor technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that allrelative anatomy is demonstrated. • Comprehends and complies with Quality Controlstandards and participatesin all Quality Control tasks. • Administers medical aid asrequired for any emergency situation. • Applies appropriate standard precautions and use of personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases

Qualifications

Education/Training Graduate of an accredited school of sonography. Depending on assigned department, meets education/training as required under established current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) guidelines.

Licensure/Certification • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification. • Must maintain one of the following: • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in fetal echocardiography; or • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS); or • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); or • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS); or • Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

Experience A minimum of one year of experience.
