OPS technician positions are available in Dr. Zhipeng Li's laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology to support ongoing research projects studying cancer metabolism and ferroptosis. This is a new lab in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida, and there will be tremendous opportunities to learn and contribute research. We are a multi-disciplinary lab that utilizes various techniques (biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, microscopy, and imaging) in mammalian cell culture model systems. We strive to cultivate a collaborative lab environment that enables innovative and cutting-edge research. The position will involve performing routine experiments, contributing essential support functions, and maintaining the day-to-day operation of the lab. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking for research experience prior to applying to graduate school.
Training opportunities for cutting-edge technologies in the lab include CRISPR (knockout, knock-in, a/i), high-throughput functional genomic and small molecule screens, and confocal microscopy.

$15-$16 per hour, commensurate with education and experience Qualifications High School Diploma Recent or expected Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences (or related field). Self-motivated, energetic, able to solve problems, and able to work in a multi-faceted laboratory environment. Excellent organizational, communication, time management, and record-keeping skills. Experience in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Cell Biology with undergraduate lab experience. Excellent interpersonal and social skills and enjoy working and interacting with people.
