Our client, a well-established manufacturer with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement, is seeking a

2nd Shift Controls Technician

to support and troubleshoot automated systems and industrial controls. This is a direct hire opportunity on a consistent second shift (3pm-11pm), ideal for someone looking to grow their technical skills in a dynamic and stable production environment. As a Controls Technician, you'll work directly with equipment operators, engineering teams, and outside contractors to ensure optimal function and minimal downtime of manufacturing equipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, getting into the details of automation systems, and working as part of a collaborative maintenance team.

Responsibilities Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and minor modifications on industrial automation equipment including PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and servo systems. Support the plant's controls infrastructure, including industrial communication networks (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-I). Read and interpret electrical schematics to assist in diagnostics and troubleshooting tasks. Use tools such as multimeters, computers, wire strippers, crimpers, and screwdrivers to perform technical tasks safely and effectively. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and contractors to complete work in compliance with GMP and safety standards. Make basic modifications to electrical schematics using AutoCAD or similar CAD programs. Assist with documentation and basic data entry using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Communicate clearly with team members, equipment operators, and leadership regarding system status and any required interventions. Job Requirements

Qualifications

Hands-on experience working with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servos. Familiarity with industrial networks such as Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, and Profibus. Basic understanding of safety circuits and troubleshooting processes. Comfortable interpreting and working from electrical schematics. Proficient in using basic electrical tools and test equipment. Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Preferred Skills

Basic proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD programs for editing and printing schematics. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Self-driven and motivated to complete tasks with limited supervision. Why Apply?
