About The Position Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: MRI Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:00 - 18:30) Experience: 1 year required License: ARRT MR or ARMRIT required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Inpatient and Outpatient experience - Previous Charge Experience required - Experience with various types of scans including Brain, Body, and Breast Description: Travelers must be available to work 4 out of the 7 major holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. If the contract ends prior to Christmas, the traveler must be available to work 2 out of the 4 holidays within their contract: Halloween, Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving, and Black Friday. No exceptions will be made to this policy. The work schedule is 3 shifts of 12 hours each, from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Weekend call is required from Friday to Sunday every 4-6 weeks. This position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in MRI technology. Technologists will conduct scans on various patient populations including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily caseloads will involve approximately 11 exams per scanner. Types of scans performed include Brain (Perfusion, Functional, Spectroscopy), Body (Enterography, Defecography, Musculoskeletal), Breast (including Breast biopsy), and Spine. Staffing per scanner consists of two Level 2 Technologists or one Level 2 Technologist and one Level 1 Staff. There is a requirement to prepare and/or administer contrast media. Additional skills in image post-processing and specific MRI techniques are needed. All travelers will need to complete an OSHA Respirator Clearance prior to starting. Travelers must be clean shaven for FIT testing. All clinicians cannot work past one year as a traveler and a six-month break must be taken before returning as a traveler. Modules are not billable and hours may vary, with Allied modules approximately 1 hour. Modules must be completed prior to start and will be recorded on transcripts.
