About the Role:
In your role as the Solution Delivery Architect, you will be the driving force behind the configuration of mainframe hardware equipment, including HCD and IOCP. You will take the lead during client migrations, ensuring configurations in Ensono data centers closely resemble existing client environments. Additionally, you'll be the go-to person for resolving mainframe hardware issues, adjusting settings on HMC for LPARS, and ensuring our systems run smoothly. What You Will Do: Define GEN mainframe equipment connections to Mainframe CPU. Support existing mainframe equipment with functionality, troubleshooting, and upgrades. Assess client systems for migration to Ensono data centers. Evaluate proposed solutions for their supportability. Collaborate with Ensono and client network teams to identify necessary IPs and ports for mainframe hardware and LPARs. Work with data center hardware teams to ascertain grid locations and power requirements for installations. Document all hardware and LPAR cabling (network and FICON) along with their IP addresses. What You Will Need: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a z/OS environment focusing on Tape, DASD, CPU, and other mainframe hardware. Proven experience in creating HCD and IOCP for zOS, zVM, and zVSE in complex, geographically dispersed environments. Ability to manage multiple client hardware upgrades and data center migrations. Familiarity with Z Series HMC and support elements. Self-sufficiency in contributing to new customer hardware migrations and upgrades. Average understanding of network connectivity requirements for mainframe, DASD, and Tape subsystems. Strong interaction skills with account management and project managers. Experience with vendor interactions and teamwork across geographically dispersed Data Center support staff. Excellent analytical, problem-definition, and resolution skills. Adept in following ITSM processes and procedures; proficient with Excel, Visio, and MS Project or equivalents. Able to assess proposed architecture for supportability before client presentation. Strong knowledge of the z/OS operating system. Understanding of tape and DASD replication methodologies across various vendors. Experience in building and maintaining mainframe DR configurations across multiple clients and recovery facilities. Participation in Disaster Recovery Tests. Knowledge of data encryption technologies on the mainframe. Familiarity with Putty. Ability to mentor and train junior hardware configuration team members. Understanding of network IP, port, and firewall frameworks for access facilitation. Comprehensive understanding of different mainframe hardware/LPARs and their cabling needs. The salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $150,000 annually based on a full-time schedule, determined by various factors including skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs.
