The QC Lab Supervisor

will manage Tech and Microbiology analysts performing routine and non-routine analyses of products and raw materials in a GMP laboratory setting. This position is located at our Rochester, NY plant.

Essential Job Functions: Supervise QC lab and microbiology technicians, supporting routine testing and project work. Oversee the sites active stability programs, including coordination with production, the QC lab and outside vendors. Coordinate work schedules and assignments of laboratory technicians to assist in meeting production goals. Coordinate maintenance for lab instrumentation, including creating PO's for payment of services. Develop and qualify new testing methods (method validations). Create protocols for specialized testing, method validations and equipment validations. Review, update and develop standard operating procedures. Monitor testing procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods, or protocols. Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, daily production quality, root cause analyses, or quality trends. Identify quality/microbiological problems or areas for improvement and aid in solutions for the plant. Assist microbiology laboratory technicians in conducting routine and non-routine microbiological analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finished goods, or stability samples. Recommend or execute personnel actions, such as hiring, evaluations, or promotions. Review statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards and trends to stay abreast of changes and issues in the field of quality control and microbiology. Participate in internal assessments and audits as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelors Degree in Chemistry/Biology/Microbiology Chemical manufacturing or chemical experience background highly preferred. Solid experience and knowledge of GMP/Regulatory, Procedure /Protocol/ Report Writing, and Quality Control Analyses Takes personal responsibility for promoting change in his/her area Understands how to effectively engage others in the change processes

,000.00 ; specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location, and other job-related, non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
