Project 2029 Volunteer Leadership Position
This role advocates for political causes with elected officials in the U.S. Candidates must be U.S. citizens residing domestically.
Reports to:
Chief Public Affairs Officer Purpose:
Lead Project 2029's engagement with elected officials, government agencies, and policy stakeholders to advance our progressive policy agenda. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop relationships with progressive elected officials at federal, state, and local levels Coordinate policy briefings and meetings between Project 2029 experts and government officials Track relevant legislation and regulatory developments across issue areas Organize Hill briefings and policy presentations for congressional staff Build coalitions with allied organizations for joint advocacy efforts Represent Project 2029 at policy conferences and stakeholder meetings Coordinate with displaced government experts in our network for strategic insights Develop advocacy strategies for policy brief implementation Manage relationships with partner organizations like Environmental Protection Network Qualifications: 5+ years experience in government relations, lobbying, or legislative affairs Existing relationships with progressive elected officials and staff preferred Deep understanding of federal policy process and regulatory framework Experience working with coalition partners and advocacy organizations Background in one or more of Project 2029's policy areas preferred Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders All positions are volunteer roles.
