We're seeking a

Quality Assurance (QA) Manager

to lead food safety, quality assurance, and compliance programs at our New Haven facility. This is a key leadership role responsible for maintaining our

Quality Management System (QMS) , ensuring

USDA compliance , and driving a proactive

food safety culture

throughout the plant.

The QA Manager will lead and mentor a small team of QA professionals, manage audits, resolve customer complaints, and partner with operations to continuously improve product quality and consistency. What You'll Do Lead and develop the QA and sanitation teams, ensuring clarity, accountability, and engagement. Oversee the plant's

Quality Management System (QMS)

in alignment with HACCP, GMP, SSOP, and USDA/FDA requirements. Serve as the primary contact for

regulatory inspections, customer audits, and third-party audits . Investigate and resolve

customer complaints

using root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions. Oversee daily QA functions such as pre-op inspections, product testing, labeling verification, and traceability. Track and report

key performance indicators (KPIs)

related to quality, audits, and customer feedback. Foster a culture of food safety and continuous improvement throughout all departments. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in

Food Science, Microbiology , or a related field preferred. 5+ years

of QA experience in food manufacturing, with

2+ years

in a supervisory or management role. Hands-on experience in

USDA-regulated environments

required. Strong working knowledge of

HACCP, GMP, SSOP, and food safety systems . Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Experience with Microsoft Office and quality/traceability software systems. Work Schedule & Environment Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; flexibility for audits, inspections, or urgent quality matters. Location:

On-site at Longhini Sausage in New Haven, CT. Frequent time on the production floor; occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs.); exposure to refrigerated and food manufacturing conditions. Why You'll Love Working Here
