Job Title: Automation Controls Integrator

Position Overview:

The Automation Controls Integrator will play a key role in designing, developing, installing, and maintaining custom automation control systems in heavy industrial and manufacturing facilities. This role requires hands-on expertise in control system logic, programmable logic controllers (PLC) programming, human-machine interfaces (HMI), and electrical schematics. The ideal candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver integrated automation control solutions.

Key Responsibilities: Design and develop automation control systems, including PLCs, HMI components, and remote I/O systems. Collaborate with electrical engineers, control system programmers, and project teams to design, implement, and commission control systems. Assist in the management of mechanical portions of projects to meet client budgets, goals, and deadlines. Provide system checkout, operational testing, commissioning, and calibration of control systems on-site. Troubleshoot, maintain and redesign automation systems to ensure equipment meets utilization and operational goals. Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures for automated systems. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality control policies. Perform construction phase services, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing as-built documentation. Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program. Completion or pursuit of EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification preferred. 1-4+ years of experience in automation control design, especially in industrial or government facility projects. Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Rockwell Automation's Allen-Bradley RSLogix, Siemens Simatic Step 7) and HMI modules. Familiarity with automation communication protocols (ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus). Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Plant Design Suite, and Autodesk Revit. Relevant certifications (CAP, CCST, CIMM, NICET) are a plus. Skills & Abilities:

Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, presentations, and client interactions. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve automation system issues efficiently. Excellent teamwork and client-focused attitude. Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and design software. Ability to work on-site, as travel is required.
