Description
Consolidated Asset Management Services is seeking a Lead O&M Technician to join the team at the highly efficient 1,250MW CPV Three Rivers Energy Center. This role is shift-based (rotating 12-hour shifts) and primarily focused on plant operations. We are looking for candidates with control room operator experience, strong multi-disciplinary technical skills, and prior supervisory experience.
The Lead O&M Technician will be responsible for directing plant operations during shift, ensuring safety and environmental compliance, and maintaining operational reliability. This includes supervising shift personnel, authorizing work and safety permits, responding to plant events, and coordinating with dispatch on unit scheduling and market conditions.
The Three Rivers Energy Center is a highly efficient (2) 1x1 single shaft configuration natural gas combined cycle facility featuring GE 7HA.02 gas turbines and GE A650 steam turbines with air cooled condensers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct all work activities in a professional, environmentally conscious, and safe manner. Assures operational efficiency, unit reliability and compliance with safety and environmental standards. Directs plant operations while on shift; authorizes work to be performed Authorizes safety permits - LOTO, confined space, hotwork Supervises employees assigned on shift Collecting, recording and assessing all necessary equipment and Instrumentation data; manually and remotely operates valves and other plant equipment. Directing response to plant upset events and emergencies. Assists in completion of injury/illness reports and adheres to plant policy guidelines Maintain, troubleshoot and repair of all plant equipment to include instrumentation, control systems, mechanical, and electrical equipment. Performs and supervises predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance. Responsible to ensure that direct reports are properly trained and is accountable for the qualification of direct reports in areas such as safety, proper operating techniques, tagging, etc Closely interacts with dispatching to schedule operating unit activities and keeps them informed of the generating units' capabilities and associated risk; Stays abreast of market conditions and rules Requirements
Minimum of 3 years' experience in power plant operations and/or maintenance, or a similar related field, as a qualified plant operator and/or maintenance technician Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct others; prior supervisory experience is preferred High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree, Vocational Technical School (two-year college) is preferred or relevant equivalent experience. Ensures compliance with environmental permits, procedures, and reporting requirements. Experience with steam turbine and/or combustion turbine power generation. Experience in operations of a distributed control systems (DCS) required; Mark VIe experience preferred Demonstrated ability to respond to alarms, troubleshoot abnormal conditions, and take corrective actions to maintain safe and efficient operations Willingness to perform work independently and a strong desire for personal ownership and responsibility for their work and employees assigned Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the Operations and Maintenance of a combustion turbine generating station, including balance of plant equipment. Ability to work shift work to include weekends, holidays, and be available for overtime as needed. Good computer skills including Microsoft Office and other computer-based productivity tools. Must have knowledge and skills of chemical tests, procedures, reagents, etc. to perform chemical analysis, industrial hygiene evaluations and environmental sampling. Familiarity with Predictive and Preventative Maintenance programs. Physical requirements include lifting 50lbs, standing for long periods, walking, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling etc. Demonstrated strong work ethic, integrity, and ability to work and communicate effectively with all employees and contractors.
