Multi-Site (5 current U.S. manufacturing locations, expanding to 7)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated
Purchasing Manager
to lead and optimize purchasing operations across
five manufacturing locations
(with two additional sites planned). This leader will oversee a team of
five site buyers , develop best-in-class purchasing practices, and ensure the company's supply base supports both growth and efficiency. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for driving cost savings, ensuring supply continuity, and creating consistent processes across all locations.
Key Responsibilities Multi-Site Leadership : Manage and mentor a team of
five site-level buyers , with oversight of procurement activities at all current and future manufacturing plants. Standardization & Best Practices : Establish and implement
standard purchasing processes
and policies across all locations, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy. Supplier Management : Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; lead negotiations, contracts, and performance reviews. Cost Optimization : Identify and execute cost savings opportunities, leveraging spend across multiple sites to achieve better terms and pricing. Collaboration : Partner with operations, production, quality, and finance teams to ensure material availability and supplier performance. Strategic Growth : Support the integration of
two new manufacturing sites
into the purchasing function, ensuring seamless onboarding and supply continuity. KPI Development : Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for purchasing performance, supplier reliability, cost savings, and compliance. Compliance & Risk Management : Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and ethical standards; proactively manage supply chain risks. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in
Supply Chain, Business, or related field
(required). 7+ years
of progressive procurement/purchasing experience, with at least
3 years in a leadership role . Strong background in
manufacturing purchasing
(commodities, direct/indirect materials, MRO). Proven ability to
lead and develop buyers across multiple locations . Skilled in
contract negotiation, supplier management, and cost reduction initiatives . Proficiency in
ERP/MRP systems
and advanced Excel or analytics tools. Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
