About the Job We are looking for a highly skilled Director of Financial Reporting and Subsidiary Accounting to join our team. This is a pivotal role that will provide significant exposure to executive leadership and collaboration with leaders across different areas of our business. You will be tasked with developing and reviewing complex financial models, especially for valuations, as well as overseeing external financial reporting and managing accounting for multiple subsidiaries. Your expertise in valuation methodologies, income tax concepts, US GAAP, and IFRS will be essential in enhancing our financial reporting and valuation processes. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting Lead the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements, management reports, and subsidiary reporting packages. Ensure compliance with US GAAP and/or IFRS for all external reporting needs. Work closely with FP&A, Tax, and Operations teams to guarantee timely and accurate reporting to senior leadership. Identify and implement process improvements for reporting, controls, and transparency. Collaborative Valuations Engage directly with leadership to design and develop sophisticated financial models for valuations. Coordinate with external valuation experts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Review valuation reports critically to validate assumptions and ensure complete and accurate inputs. Provide actionable insights and analysis to executive leadership. Technical Accounting & Research Lead technical accounting research and create well-documented position papers for executive review. Interpret and execute new accounting standards across various subsidiaries. Ensure compliance of accounting conclusions and reporting with US GAAP and/or IFRS. Contribute to enterprise-wide strategic transactions (e.g., refinancing, M&A) as they arise. Subsidiary Accounting & Reporting Oversee the accounting and reporting processes for multiple subsidiaries. Ensure accurate preparation of financial statements under US GAAP or IFRS for each subsidiary. Facilitate the audit process for subsidiaries, ensuring any issues are resolved promptly. Leadership & Development Mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous growth. Encourage collaboration across accounting, tax, FP&A, and operations teams. Act as a strategic advisor to leadership on matters regarding valuation, accounting, and financial reporting. Qualifications CPA required. Bachelor's degree in accounting; Master's degree is preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities. Sound working knowledge of valuation techniques, income tax concepts, and financial reporting. In-depth experience with US GAAP; familiarity with IFRS is a plus. Proven ability to manage accounting and reporting functions effectively. Outstanding analytical and communication skills. Ability to articulate complex accounting and valuation topics clearly to finance and operations leadership.
