Description
The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for efficiently and accurately handling the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and finished goods in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures that materials are properly stored, tracked, and moved to support the production process. The Warehouse Clerk plays a key role in inventory management, ensuring materials are available when needed, and helping to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities: • Uphold the company's values, vision, mission and quality policy in all activities. • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and internal control standards. • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and products against purchase orders or delivery receipts. • Load and unload trucks, ensuring all materials are moved safely and efficiently. • Store materials in appropriate locations within the warehouse or production area in compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage. • Keep the warehouse or storage areas clean, organized, and safe for all employees. • Follow safety protocols and maintain equipment to minimize accidents and injuries. • Retrieve and deliver materials to production lines or workstations as requested by production schedules. • Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks) in compliance with safety standards. • Maintain accurate inventory records by updating inventory management systems or manual logs. • Perform routine inventory checks and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy. • Investigate discrepancies in inventory, damaged materials, and assist with corrective actions. • Assist in preparing inventory reports, helping with audits, and ensuring materials are available as needed for production schedules.
Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent • Additional certifications in material handling or forklift operation certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). • Previous experience in inventory management or material handling in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred. • Familiarity with inventory control systems, material handling equipment, and safety standards. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Work Environment: • Fast-paced shop/manufacturing environment. • Shipping dock environment with moderate noise levels and working near machinery. • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods of time. • Must be able to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs or more). • Regular use of material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
Expected Hours of Work: • This is a full-time position, typically Monday through Friday. While weekend work is rare, occasional weekend activity may be required based on business needs.
