The Lead Structures Technician is responsible for leading a team in the servicing, repair, conversion, and rebuilding of aircraft and aircraft parts by overseeing and performing the following duties:

Coordinating work priorities Assigning work as required to ensure on time delivery and airworthy aircraft/article/product Ensuring that all work is carried out in conformance to standards set forth in the FAA Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR), manufacturer's maintenance manuals, and Avocet's Repair Station Manual Recording data on forms, reports, and inspection tags and notifying the Lead Quality Control Inspector of any irregularities in the standard practices that could cause injury to personnel or affect the airworthiness of the aircraft Ensuring that a high standard of workmanship is maintained and that EO, AD, and SB are accomplished per applicable technical data Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and/or product specifications to determine the sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products Selecting gauge and type of sheet metal such as galvanized iron, copper, steel, or aluminum; or nonmetallic material such as plastics or fiberglass, according to product specifications Laying out and marking dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts, or using templates Setting up and operating fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers; to cut, bend, block and form, or straighten materials Shaping metal material over anvil, block, or other form Trimming, filing, grinding, deburring, buffing, and smoothing surfaces Welding and soldering bolts, rivets, screws, and clips; caulking or bonding component parts Installing assemblies in supportive framework according to blueprints Inspecting assemblies and installation for conformance to specifications Repairing and maintaining sheet metal products Operating computer aided drafting (CAD) equipment to develop scale drawings of product or system Other duties as assigned by Production Manager or Director of Maintenance Requirements:

3-5 years of heavy commercial aircraft experience Some supervisory experience Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at professional working proficiency Ability to understand and follow maintenance manuals and IPCs Experience with B757, B737, and A321 aircraft A&P certification preferred Must provide own tools as provided by a company tool list
