Job Title: Transportation

Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Maintenance Director / Executive Director

Schedule : Tuesday- Thursday 8am-5pm

Job Summary:

The Transportation team member is responsible for the safe transportation of residents to desired destinations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Transport residents according to an established schedule Assist residents in and out of the vehicle using a wheelchair lift if available Assist residents inside their destination and wait for family members when necessary Sign each resident in and out of the building Maintain an open line of professional and well-mannered communication with staff and residents regarding needed transportation Accurately maintain required transportation records/logs Notify the Maintenance Director of vehicle problems or needed repairs Maintain the vehicle as necessary (fill with gas, clean, keep mileage records, etc.) Verify that emergency equipment is available and in working order Interact with residents in a warm and professional manner Confidentially handle residents' medical records and return to the house safely Attend mandatory meetings and in-service training events. Assist with training new hires. Ensure that all regulations regarding residents' rights are followed and report observed violations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities:

Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle with multiple passengers Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic understanding of or ability to learn processes and regulations to perform duties safely. Basic understanding of or ability to learn basic transportation duties. Must be able to work safely and efficiently. Must be able to work well as part of a team and under pressure. Ability to maintain personal cleanliness. Education and Experience:

Must be at least 21 years of age Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a safe driving record while reporting any deviations in a timely manner to Director of Maintenance or Executive Director. Minimum of one year of driving experience. Physical Requirements:

Must be able to frequently lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to sit, drive, and operate vehicle components constantly Ability to stand and walk frequently Ability to operate motor vehicle (shuttle) as well as wheelchair lift
