Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Human Resources (SMHR) is responsible for leading HR functions across the full employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee relations. This role partners closely with executive leadership to provide strategic HR guidance, ensure compliance with labor regulations, and foster an engaged and productive workforce. The SMHR will also play a key role in payroll oversight, benefits administration, and employee engagement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with senior leadership to align HR strategy with business objectives.
Lead full-cycle recruitment processes, including ATS management, job posting approvals, interview coordination, reference/background checks.
Oversee employee engagement and retention initiatives (events, programs, internal communications).
Manage onboarding processes including new hire paperwork, HRIS data entry, compliance training, and benefits enrollment.
Conduct benefits administration including open enrollment, FMLA documentation, employee questions, and payroll deductions.
Oversee accurate bi-weekly payroll processing and reporting in partnership with Payroll/Benefits staff.
Maintain personnel records and HRIS data integrity.
Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and best practices.
Draft, review, and implement HR policies and procedures; communicate updates to managers and employees.
Support supervisors in addressing employee relations issues.
Manage performance management platform, ensuring accurate data, timely reviews, and SMART goals.
Prepare monthly turnover and workforce reports.
Serve as backup for payroll administration as needed.
Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required.
7-10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including hands-on payroll and benefits administration.
Knowledge of HRIS systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
Strong understanding of labor laws, compliance, and HR best practices.
PHR/SPHR certification preferred but not required. Skills and Abilities

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Collaborative team player with leadership experience.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
