The holiday magic is in the air and our Uncle Giuseppes Marketplace in Morris Plains,NJis gearing up for a festive season! Were seeking an enthusiastic Seasonal Part-Time Mozzarella Clerk to join our team from Novemberto January 1st, 2026.
This seasonal position offers a salary of $21.05/hour. Since this is a Seasonal position, there are no company benefits associated with this temporary job.
Our Mozzarella Clerks are the artisans behind Uncle Giuseppes signature fresh mozzarella, crafted daily using our authentic Italian recipe. This role involves working hands-on with fresh mozzarella curdheating, stretching, and shaping it to perfection while engaging all the senses to ensure every batch meets our high standards of taste, texture, and quality.
Responsibilities
Prepare fresh mozzarella following Uncle Giuseppes authentic Italian recipe.
Engage all sensestaste, smell, feel, listen, and observeto maintain the highest product quality.
Record daily ingredient weights, batch sizes, and transfers to other departments.
Adjust ingredients or timing as needed to perfect future batches.
Handle all products carefully, ensuring quality control and minimizing waste.
Weigh, package, and label mozzarella for display and sale.
Stock and maintain display refrigerators neatly and accurately.
Provide friendly and informative service to guests, explaining the mozzarella-making process.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area in accordance with food safety standards.
Monitor and restock supplies to ensure smooth operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous cheese-making or food production experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Basic math and communication skills.
Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.
Ability to work in a kitchen production environment and operate commercial kitchen equipment.
Working Conditions Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
