Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Controller
to lead our accounting practice and play a critical role in shaping the company's financial strategy. This individual will be responsible not only for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting but also for driving the long-term direction of the accounting function as the company grows.
The Controller will be a key partner to executive leadership, ensuring strong compliance with FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirements while implementing scalable processes, systems, and controls that align with the company's strategic objectives.

Key Duties:
Lead the accounting and contracts team of 4 accounting and finance staff, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth. Assist in the development and execution of the long-term accounting strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance obligations. Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, monthly close, reconciliations, and audit, banking, and customer reporting. Provide financial insights and operational analysis to program managers to improve profitability and performance. Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirements in all financial activities. Design and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support scalability and mitigate risk. Manage external audits, incurred cost submissions, and government compliance reviews. Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and strategic financial decision support. Drive process improvement and automation across the accounting function, including ERP/system enhancements. Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
Due to contract requirements, only U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time. 10 or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership roles. Demonstrated expertise in government contracting accounting with a strong working knowledge of FAR, CAS, and DCAA compliance. Hands-on technical accounting knowledge combined with strategic leadership capabilities. Proficiency in government contracting accounting systems. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial concepts for executive and operational audiences. Integrity, honesty, and high ethical standards. Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and drive to achieve results. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
