A law firm seeks a Personal Injury Litigation Attorney in Washington, D.C. This role involves managing a caseload of personal injury litigation matters, providing exceptional legal representation, and preparing cases for trial. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal injury law with proven litigation experience in at least one jurisdiction, including Washington, D.C.
Duties
Handle a caseload of personal injury litigation matters, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases. Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses; conduct depositions and represent clients in court hearings. Collaborate with legal assistance to develop case strategies and prepare for trial, including witness preparation and evidence presentation. Conduct legal research and draft briefs, motions, and memoranda. Maintain regular communication with clients to provide case updates and guide them through the litigation process. Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing counsel, ensuring outcomes align with clients' best interests. Ensure all filings, pleadings, and court submissions comply with procedural rules of courts. Requirements
Must be currently licensed to practice law in D.C. 2-3 years of personal injury litigation experience. Strong knowledge of personal injury law, with experience in all phases of litigation, including trials. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Highly organized and able to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to negotiate favorable settlements. Proficiency with case management software and litigation support tools. Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required. Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications
Licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C. Skills
