The California Department of Aging (CDA) administers programs that serve older adults, adults with disabilities, family caregivers, and residents in long-term care facilities throughout the State. The Department administers funds under the federal Older Americans Act, the Older Californians Act, and the Medi-Cal program. Citizenship and healthcare services under CDA align with the Governor’s Master Plan for Aging.
Job Description And Duties Under the general direction of the HelpDesk Supervisor, Information Technology Supervisor II (ITS II), and technical guidance/direction of the System Support Specialist, information technology specialist I (ITS I), the Service Desk IT Associate (ITA) is primarily responsible for the Service Desk support within the Division of Information Technology. The ITA is responsible for preparing and maintaining the IT inventory and purchasing documents as well as ensuring the department’s laptops and workstations are in compliance with the department’s patch management and security policies. The ITA will work both onsite and virtually to support critical business needs.
Responsibilities:
Provide tier‑1 and tier‑2 support for Windows desktop, mobile, and infrastructure issues.
Log incidents, troubleshoot, and resolve according to SLA guidelines.
Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets.
Assist with patch management, antivirus, and security policy enforcement.
Document solutions in ticketing system and update knowledgebase articles.
Collaborate with helpdesk supervisors and senior IT staff on system improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
Proven experience in Windows server domain, Exchange/Outlook, file and print services.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
Ability to work a hybrid schedule at the Sacramento County location.
