Job Description
Are you passionate about advancing bovine genetics and reproductive success? Do you thrive in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment where your expertise directly contributes to client success? Trans Ova Genetics is seeking a skilled and motivated Professional Services Veterinarian to support and multiply the success of our clients’ breeding programs through exceptional advanced reproductive technologies. In this role, you will represent Trans Ova Genetics by coordinating and implementing the herd health programs for gestation program, young calf housing program; animal populations owned by clients, and Trans Ova. You will also collaborate with other TOG veterinarians working with donor and recipient programs, regulatory and export. Trans Ova Genetics provides in‑depth training that provides a solid foundation prior to supporting client production and would require time dedicated to our training facility in Sioux Center, IA, which is critical to the success of this role. Our ideal candidate would be located near Sioux Center, IA as this position will be based out of our Sioux Center, IA.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consultancy and assist young calf housing and gestation production team to deliver high quality calves to our customers.
Monitor the preventative medicine programs, nutrition, and overall herd health of TOG young animal management programs.
Perform special surgeries as needed for production, and R/D projects as needed (fetal removals, C‑sections, umbilical repair, etc.).
Support veterinarian team managing donor and recipient program preg checks, 40 and 60 days of pregnancy.
Evaluate recipient pregnancies prior to movement to gestation/calving facility.
Provide veterinary supervision as needed for anesthesia, surgical procedures, and assist in technique development for production procedures as needed.
Perform tests and exams and complete paperwork necessary for release and interstate movement of animals.
Other Skills and Valued Experience
Deep passion for bovine reproduction and a drive for continuous improvement in reproductive technologies.
Demonstrated hands‑on experience in bovine embryo transfer, IVF procedures, and reproductive evaluation strongly preferred.
High level of professionalism with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must possess strong physical stamina and the ability to perform repeated manipulations of the bovine reproductive tract.
Excellent hand‑eye coordination, manual dexterity, and tactile sensitivity required for delicate procedures.
Professional Services Veterinarian Education & Certification Requirements
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from a US accredited institution.
Full current accreditation with the USDA – APHIS.
Licensure to practice veterinary medicine in applicable states, or the ability to obtain licensure in a timely manner.
Certification with the American Embryo Transfer Association (AETA), or the ability and willingness to obtain certification.
