Primary responsibilities: work with Account Executives, Account Managers, and the Estimating department to develop bid strategies, prepare estimates, and present complex technical solutions that position ColonialWebb as an industry leader in facility services for mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Controls). The Solutions Engineer reports to the Preconstruction Manager.

A Day In The Life
Maintain strict adherence to all company safety rules, regulations, procedures and practices.
Develop project solutions to bring value to existing customers and a competitive advantage to bid situations.
Develop and deliver technical proposals to customers.
Prepare cost estimates and proposals for HVAC systems for commercial projects (installations, retrofits, equipment replacements).
Perform field surveys and collaborate with operations team to confirm scope logistics and validate estimates.
Support sales and operations for project opportunities, focusing on design-build, complex opportunities, and those with potential operational and/or energy pay-backs.
Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with owner-direct customers, general contractors, and select engineers and vendors.
Develop trusting relationships with customers and ensure positive interactions with ColonialWebb personnel.
Participate in community and industry networking organizations.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
You Should Have
Strong technical and mechanical knowledge of HVAC, ductwork, plumbing and piping systems.
Ability to read blueprints, drawings and specifications.
Understanding of building materials, engineering standards and codes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and ability to interpret computerized cost data.
Diplomatic and effective communication with internal and external customers.
Foresight and problem-solving skills for sound business decisions.
Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner.
Sense of urgency and composure during emergencies.
Travel as necessary to jobs and meetings.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Unscheduled overtime may be required as necessary.
