Reynolds Consumer Products The Senior Manager- Environmental Health & Safety will join the team at the corporate headquarters in Lake Forest, IL, and provide leadership, counsel, and facilitation to develop a proactive approach to safety, health and environmental issues. Responsibilities
Provide focus, definition and technical expertise for the development of a proactive EHS plan that is consistent with RCP’s corporate policies, vision and values and compliant with local, state, and federal EHS regulations. Communicate and train plant management so all levels of plant personnel understand their roles and functions for identifying and resolving EHS issues, complying with EHS regulations and WWHP. Maintain awareness of and influence emerging and existing EHS laws/regulations that may impact plant operation. Negotiate environmental permits that reflect cost-effective process design, reasonable operating constraints, and are consistent with corporate environmental policy and regulatory requirements. Provide direction and technical expertise to engineering organizations or contractors in implementing EHS projects, while adhering to RPC safety expectations. Establish and maintain communications, reporting, assessments, training programs, and guidance to ensure department managers are informed about Health policies and applicable laws in a timely fashion. Maintain plant compliance with all EPA reporting regulations. Maintain plant SPCC plan and ensure compliance as appropriate. Maintain compliance regarding hazardous materials by conducting weekly inspections, preparing Hazardous Waste Disposal and Waste Water Reports, advising plant personnel on hazardous waste handling, and obtaining samples and analysis of possible hazardous material. Coordinate necessary environmental, health and safety training to support and enhance the organization’s safety culture while ensuring plant compliance with local, state, federal and Reynold’s Safety requirements. Build and maintain strong communications to all levels of operating management and functional departments, providing expert guidance and hands-on assistance in EHS goals and initiatives. Ensure location managers are informed about all noncompliance and potential noncompliance issues relative to EHS policies and applicable laws in a timely fashion. Maintain awareness of and influence emerging and existing EHS laws/regulations that may impact plant operation. Measure safety performance through injury/frequency rates, reporting, and keeping records of accidents and prevention measures. Lead and build a behavioral-based, interdependent culture focused on safety for all employees. Qualifications
BA/BS degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, or technical discipline or related field. 8+ years of progressive and related professional Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Knowledge of applicable Federal, State and RCP’s EHS related regulations and procedures. Working knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations and policies including OSHA, SARA, Title V air, waste, wastewater and storm water. General knowledge of GMP, HACCP, AIB and SQF requirements. Understanding of EHS objectives, procedures, and policies; regulatory compliance. Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work with organizational and labor/management challenges. Demonstrated professionalism with passion for change and execution. Ability to train others and knowledge of various training methodologies. Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize tasks. Management, supervisory and coaching experience; team-oriented with ability to work on high-collaboration teams. Additional Information
Salary range: USD $125,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 per year. Bonus eligibility: Role is eligible for 10% annual incentive provided the business meets financial goals and the individual meets performance goals, subject to plan administration guidelines.
