PART TIME Higher Level Math Teacher

College Advising Prep . This role focuses on teaching coursework for grades 8 and above, with a particular emphasis on trigonometry, statistics, and calculus. You will also lead a small student learning community (SLC) off‑site and support students through a blend of online and in‑person instruction.
Compensation & Benefits Part‑time, $30‑$40 per hour. Benefits include 401(k), flexible schedule, opportunities for advancement, training & development, and remote Fridays for prep work and occasional student meetings.
Responsibilities
Create curriculum and lesson plans that meet the needs of the students
Teach engaging, rigorous, and relevant lessons daily
Communicate effectively with students, families, and the founder
Be open to constructive criticism and feedback on teaching methodologies
Assume a high level of personal responsibility for the students and their progress
Respond to the needs of the families and students
Implement developmentally appropriate activities for the age group
Professional Qualifications
At least two years of experience teaching higher‑level math for grades 8 and above
B.A./B.S. in a relevant field (Master’s Degree or Ph.D. preferred)
Advanced knowledge in calculus, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
California Teaching or Child Development Permit, or current eligibility to obtain one
Strong passion for math, enjoyment of working with middle and upper‑school students, emotional acuity, and a sense of humor
Ability to create a fun yet engaging curriculum
Skill in facilitating a positive learning environment
Preferred Qualifications
AA or BA in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a directly related field
Two years of experience as a Lead Teacher in a classroom
