Position Overview We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician as we grow our business. In addition to providing startup and warranty support to our construction group, this technician will also support our end‑user clients through scheduled maintenance, equipment repair, and equipment replacement projects.
Work start and end time:
7:00 am - 5:30 pm Monday to Friday (weekends, overtime, and evenings on occasion)
Primary Job Functions
Performs electrical and mechanical inspection and maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure peak performance
Perform specific scheduled maintenance tasks per the scope of work. Including documenting the equipment's operational data with a designed log.
Uses experience and technical skills in system operations to determine service requirements
Ability to interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location, and operation of the system(s)
Represents the company in a positive manner to other trades, contractors, and owners
Advise the customer of any system issues found. Communicates within our department to provide corrective actions to be taken
Suggest solutions beyond repairs that are beneficial to the customer
Works in a team‑based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
Submits required paperwork in a timely manner
Must work safely daily and ensure that all safety measures are taken at all times
Performs other duties as assigned
Willingness to assist with any additional and reasonable duties assigned by the supervisor
Flexibility to work overtime/ weekends, as required
Provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
A combined five years' experience servicing commercial and residential HVAC units
Must have a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
Ability to pass a drug screening and a background check
Ability to work in diverse conditions, including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), climbing/working at elevated heights, etc.
Work from a 28' extension ladder and 12', 10', 8'and 6' step ladder.
Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and balance the requirements of multiple and varied duties
Meet all qualifications and have all the tools required. Including the ability to demonstrate working knowledge of daily, weekly, and monthly skills noted below.
Understand and communicate the benefits of preventative maintenance.
Demonstrate advanced customer service skills and can communicate clearly, ideas, and explanations of problems to residential and commercial customers and coworkers
Demonstrate willingness to accept responsibility and leadership roles.
Experience in training and mentoring service technicians.
Operate scissors and genie lifts safely.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with hand handheld computer (i.e., Smartphone, iPad)
Good written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualification – completion from HVAC Technical School
