Job Description
Electrical Engineer
role at
ECS
located in Chantilly, VA.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective design review and project execution.
Analyze customer requirements and derive detailed system, subsystem, and component‑level specifications to drive electronic designs.
Develop circuit designs at various levels from component‑level up to system‑level to meet customer requirements and specifications.
Analyze, simulate and iterate circuit design implementations to ensure performance meets requirements.
Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies and components in both laboratory and field environments.
Participate in small multi‑discipline teams to integrate subsystems together and perform system‑level acceptance tests.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including operations manuals, user guides, and qualification procedures.
Provide technical expertise and recommendations to support and enhance existing systems and new development projects.
Contribute to technology innovation discussions with coworkers and stakeholders to help advance the ECS mission.
Occasional domestic and international travel (up to 15% of the time, several times a year) to support installations, testing and other project‑related activities.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 3‑5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with 1‑3 years related experience.
In depth knowledge of engineering standards, theories, concepts, and techniques relevant to electrical and electronic systems.
Proven experience with circuit design, testing, and troubleshooting for analog and digital systems.
Proficient in creating custom test configurations and operating test equipment, such as signal analyzers, oscilloscopes, multipliers, signal generators, network analyzers, power meters, frequency counters, and logic analyzers, to support the testing and verification of electronic systems in various applications, including communications, radar, and computing.
Experience working collaboratively in a laboratory environment and with hands‑on troubleshooting techniques.
Experience developing and publishing technical content from concept to completion, including test procedures, test reports, engineering analyses, white papers, operations/user manuals, and design review materials, in collaboration with engineers, technicians, and stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non‑technical stakeholders.
