Job Description: Own the Maintenance Operation
Join a high-performance team where you will run a modern maintenance organization focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. Your Impact
Drive daily execution and performance: set goals, measure results, and coach a skilled maintenance team. Lead the Preventive Maintenance program—plan, coordinate, and optimize schedules to protect uptime. Steward all site utilities and facility systems: electric distribution, compressed air, boiler operations, and hazardous waste. Diagnose failures, identify worn components, and procure replacements quickly and cost-effectively. Maintain strict adherence to safe work practices, including expert-level LOTO compliance. Control maintenance budgets and continuously improve repair quality and asset reliability. Engineer equipment improvements to increase efficiency and reduce cost. Manage contractor activities from bid through build; collaborate with machine shops to fabricate parts. Oversee plant projects: equipment design/development, major overhauls, and relocations. Partner with Production Management to implement productivity-enhancing machine modifications. Strengthen the safety program; support accident investigations and environmental initiatives. Design and implement machine guarding systems. Deliver annual training (lockout/tagout, confined space, fire extinguisher, Hazmat, etc.). Act as primary liaison for State/Federal inspectors, local Fire Department, insurance audits, and annual boiler inspections. Collaborate closely with production, printing, administrative, and maintenance teams; interface with contractors, insurers, and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, AIB, ASI), as well as city utilities, water/sewer departments, the fire marshal, and vendors. Qualifications
5+ years of plant maintenance experience. Successful supervisory experience and draftsman/drafting background. Extensive knowledge of inline manufacturing equipment and processes; exposure to extruders, bag machines, winders, blenders, resin vacuum conveying, and railcar unloading systems. Knowledge of printing/paper converting equipment; conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication . Capability to calculate gear ratios and pitch; proficient with welders, grinders, lathes, and cutting equipment. Demonstrated application of Lean, TPM, and 5S methodologies. Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong electrical fault-finding skills; foundational PLC and VFD experience. Expertise in lockout/tagout systems. Core Skills
PLC troubleshooting; equipment and facilities troubleshooting. Preventive maintenance strategy and execution. 120/208/240/480V systems; electrical diagnostics. Leadership, coaching, and mentoring. Blending and pneumatics troubleshooting; plastic extrusion. Manufacturing environment experience; blueprint reading; exceptional communication.
