Director, Sales and Marketing (Hotel) – Downtown LA – $120k-$140k
A boutique hospitality group with two soon-to-open, independently owned hotels in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking a Director of Sales & Marketing. This executive-level role will oversee all sales and marketing initiatives for both properties, working closely with leadership to drive revenue, elevate brand awareness, and establish the hotels as premier destinations in the Los Angeles market.
Since this is a brand new position, candidates must have experience within the hospitality industry in a similar type of position.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies across both hotels, ensuring consistent brand positioning.
Lead all event sales, including promotion of hotel ballrooms, rooftop spaces, and restaurants for weddings, social gatherings, and corporate events.
Partner with Food & Beverage leadership to promote catering and banquet services.
Oversee public relations and social media efforts, coordinating directly with outsourced PR and digital partners.
Build, hire, and manage a dedicated sales and marketing team, starting with direct supervision of an assistant.
Collaborate with hotel leadership to establish partnerships, sponsorships, and community engagement opportunities.
Report directly to the General Manager and serve as a key member of the executive team.
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive experience in hospitality sales and marketing, with direct hotel experience strongly preferred.
Strong track record of driving revenue growth through innovative sales strategies, events, and digital marketing campaigns.
Polished, professional presence with the ability to represent the hotels in client-facing and public settings.
Hands‑on, entrepreneurial approach with the ability to build a team and processes from the ground up.
Tech- and social media-savvy, with the ability to effectively guide external partners in digital brand strategy.
Both properties are located within a few blocks of each other.
Compensation: $120k-$140k plus bonus and benefits
