About the Role We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and success-oriented Vice President of Philanthropy to lead a multi-faceted fundraising program. The successful candidate will have experience growing a comprehensive development program as well as a proven track record in capital campaigns and major and planned gifts programs. Experience in annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, special events, and stewardship are also highly desirable.
As a member of the organization’s leadership team, you will work closely with the CEO and the Board of Directors. You will be decisive, visionary, strategic, a relationship builder, results oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You must support, embrace, and possess a passion for the work of the organization, helping Girl Scouts discover their passions, connect with their communities, and take action to make the world a better place.
Responsibilities
Lead and grow a team of fundraising professionals.
Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies, including capital campaigns, major gifts, planned giving, annual giving, corporate relations, foundation relations, special events, and stewardship.
Collaborate closely with the CEO, Board, and other leadership teams to align fundraising goals with organizational priorities.
Prepare and deliver compelling fundraising pitches to potential donors and partners.
Manage fundraising budgets and financial reporting, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
Monitor and evaluate fundraising outcomes, providing data-driven insights for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of 7 years of fundraising experience, preferably with a demonstrated increase in scope of responsibilities.
Proven track record in capital campaigns and major/planned gifts programs.
Experience in annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, special events, and stewardship.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong critical thinking, problem solving, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage goals and objectives without supervision.
