IP Paralegal Supervisor

to lead their docketing and patent prosecution support teams. This is a hands‑on leadership role for a senior‑level paralegal who brings deep knowledge of IP processes, excels at managing people and workflows, and is ready to elevate team performance and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do as the IP Paralegal Supervisor:

Lead and mentor a team of paralegals supporting patent prosecution and docketing functions

Ensure quality control, consistency, and compliance across all paralegal deliverables

Act as liaison between paralegals and attorneys to ensure smooth communication and workflow

Monitor workload distribution, set priorities, and identify process improvement opportunities

Train new paralegals and implement best practices in IP workflow management

Maintain a partial individual docket of patent prosecution or docketing tasks as needed

Collaborate with firm leadership to evaluate tools, systems, and staffing needs

Must-Haves as the IP Paralegal Supervisor:

Minimum 5–7 years of experience as an IP paralegal, with strong patent prosecution and/or docketing background

Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a legal setting (formally or informally managing others)

Strong understanding of USPTO processes, deadlines, and documentation

Proven ability to lead, coach, and build high‑performing teams

Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills

Proficiency in IP docketing and filing systems, along with Microsoft Office tools

Based in Texas and available for in‑office or hybrid work in North Dallas

Nice‑to‑Haves as the IP Paralegal Supervisor:

Experience managing both domestic and foreign patent workflows

Familiarity with IP docketing software (e.g. FoundationIP, Anaqua, CPI)

Formal technical training or STEM background

Exposure to metrics/reporting related to paralegal team performance
