RH is seeking a skilled Spray Booth Finishing Specialist to join our Dennis & Leen/Formations Workshop in Torrance, CA. This role is part of the Iron Finishing department and plays an important role in producing luxury, antique-style indoor and outdoor furniture. In this role, you bring technical mastery, a commitment to safety and quality, and a refined eye for finishes that reflect the timeless craftsmanship and elegance synonymous with RH.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Apply protective and decorative coatings using precision spray techniques within a controlled booth environment
Prepare iron furniture components for finishing through cleaning, sanding, and masking as needed
Apply primers, paints, and protective topcoats using HVLP or comparable spray systems
Ensure smooth, even coverage, accurate color matching, and finish consistency across all pieces
Follow finish specifications for antique-style and weather-resistant coatings
Inspect finished pieces for quality, color accuracy, and durability
Perform touch-ups or refinements as needed to meet design and quality standards
Maintain spray booth cleanliness, ventilation, and equipment functionality
Adhere to all safety, environmental, and PPE regulations within the finishing department
OUR REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of experience in spray finishing, preferably in metal or iron furniture production
Proficiency with HVLP spray systems and other controlled spray equipment
Skilled in metal surface preparation, masking, and priming techniques
Experience color matching and ensuring finish uniformity across multiple pieces
Knowledge of coatings suitable for indoor and outdoor applications
Strong commitment to craftsmanship, precision, and maintaining high quality standards
Familiarity with antique-style finishes and historically inspired design aesthetics preferred
Experience in high-end or custom furniture production preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Handles and moves iron furniture components weighing up to 75 lbs. Regularly
Performs detailed visual inspection to ensure finish quality, color accuracy, and coating integrity
Stands, bends, and operates spray equipment for extended periods in a workshop or booth environment
Works in areas with exposure to paint, solvents, overspray, and noise while adhering to all safety and PPE standards
Operates hand tools and spray systems requiring dexterity, control, and attention to detail
