Position Role: Security Agent

Role Overview The Store Security Agent is a key member of the boutique team, reporting to the Store Security Supervisor and/or Store Operations Manager. This role ensures the safety and security of clients, employees, and high‑value inventory, proactively minimizing theft, fraud, and loss while maintaining a secure and welcoming environment for luxury retail.

Job responsibilities Requirements & Qualifications

5+ years of experience in retail loss prevention, security, or law enforcement.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with security software/surveillance systems.

Strong investigative and audit skills with a proactive approach to security risks.

Ability to work assigned shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

High ethical standards and adherence to internal policies and procedures.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teams, supervisors, and clients.

Escort clients and visitors to secure areas such as restrooms while maintaining strict security protocols.

Valid and active California Guard Card issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS).

Must be in good standing and authorized to work as a security officer in the state of California.

Preferred Qualifications – Attracting Top Talent

Experience in a luxury retail or high‑end business environment – Previous security experience in luxury boutiques, high‑end hotels, or private security for VIP clientele is highly desirable.

Luxury Asset Protection Expertise – Candidates with a background in high‑value asset protection (e.g., fine jewelry, luxury watches, or art collections) will have a strong advantage.

Crisis Management & Emergency Response – Experience handling high‑pressure situations, such as theft attempts, emergency evacuations, or dealing with high‑profile individuals with discretion.

Advanced Surveillance and investigative Skills— Familiarity with CCTV analytics, behavioral profiling, and fraud detection techniques within a luxury retail environment.

Executive Protection Training (a plus) – Background in VIP protection, law enforcement, or military security is a strong differentiator.

Language Skills preferred – Multilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in French, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, or Mandarin.

Prohibited Activities While on the Sales Floor

Use of personal phones or electronic devices.

Leaning on the display case, a professional posture is required at all times.

Leaving the sales floor without prior approval.

Engaging in long, casual conversations with clients or staff.

Consuming food, gum, or candy while on duty.

BOH & CCTV Room Responsibilities

Activate and deactivate the premise alarm system as required.

Manage access control, including signing in vendors/non‑store employees and activating/deactivating security fobs.

Receive and process incoming packages under CCTV surveillance, ensuring compliance with security protocols.

Monitor CCTV feeds, identify security breaches or technical issues, and report to the appropriate vendor or L/P manager as needed.

Maintain visual security over BOH elevators and client restrooms, ensuring clients are never left unattended in restricted areas.

Use radios to coordinate between the sales floor and the CCTV room.

Conduct security inspections using a wand/metal detector to examine empty boxes and garbage before disposal.

Profile Prohibited Activities While in the BOH/CCTV Room

Opening the BOH door without verifying the individual’s identity.

Leaving CCTV surveillance unattended or visible to unauthorized employees.

Allowing external vendors to remain unattended in secure areas.

Handling, packing, or shipping store merchandise (this is the responsibility of the Sales Administration team).

Opening incoming packages—all package inspections must be conducted under CCTV and performed by authorized personnel.
