Summary We are seeking a
Staff Engineer II
to join our
Land Development team in Houston, TX!
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise to the design and delivery of
commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments
across the region. You’ll collaborate with a talented group of engineers, designers, and project managers to develop creative, practical solutions for grading, paving, drainage, and utility design.
This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working on complex site civil projects, values teamwork, and is eager to continue growing in both technical and leadership capabilities.
What You’ll Do
Support the
planning and design
of land development and site civil projects — including grading, stormwater management, roadway, and utility design.
Prepare detailed
construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
in accordance with local standards and regulations.
Perform
engineering calculations , quantity takeoffs, and design analyses for infrastructure and site systems.
Collaborate closely with
Project Managers, CAD Designers, and other engineers
to ensure project success and quality deliverables.
Participate in
client meetings and coordination
with municipalities, developers, and review agencies.
Conduct
site visits and field observations
to verify design intent and support construction efforts.
Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Civil Engineering
or a related field.
5+ years of experience
in Land Development or Site Civil Design.
Proficiency in
AutoCAD Civil 3D
and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with
cost estimation, grading, drainage, and utility design .
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
EIT certification
with ability and desire to obtain
P.E. license
within the next few years.
Experience coordinating with municipalities, developers, and reviewing agencies.
Familiarity with
quality assurance and quality control
practices.
Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to team success.
