Duties

Develop, review, implement, and monitor nutrition program policies and procedures.

Plan and direct food preparation and service.

Conduct and supervise the inspection of food preparation, service areas, and meals.

Supervise dietitians and other food and nutrition staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Current registration with the Commission on Dietetics Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or certification in Dietetics-Nutrition by the New York State Education Department, and

2 years post-registration/certification professional administrative experience in a food or nutrition program, 2 years of which have been at a supervisory level.

OR: Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Nutrition Services Administrator 1 eligible list.

OR: Candidates within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

OR: In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Nutrition Services Administrator 1 at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center. Permanent appointment may be made by non-competitive promotion of an applicant who meets the position’s minimum qualifications if all requirements of non-competitive promotion are met.

Candidates who have 1 year of permanent service as a Dietitian 2 are eligible for the promotion field for this position.

Pay Range Base pay range: $74,193.00/yr – $94,121.00/yr (adjusted for Mid-Hudson adjustment)
