Key Responsibilities

Review complex Form 1040 individual and 1041 fiduciary income tax returns, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to current tax laws.

Manage and mentor staff accountants in preparing returns, providing guidance and feedback throughout the process.

Identify tax planning opportunities and make recommendations to clients.

Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax filings, documentation, and planning strategies.

Stay current with federal and state tax regulations and apply that knowledge proactively.

Assist with other tax engagements (partnership, corporate, trust returns) as needed.

Qualifications

CPA license (required).

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s in Taxation preferred.

5+ years of public accounting experience with a concentration in individual & trust taxation.

Demonstrated expertise in reviewing complex 1040 returns, including high‑net‑worth individuals, investment income, and multi‑state filings.

Experience and proficiency in CCH Axcess/ProSystem fx.

Working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and similar general ledger platforms.

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Word.

Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.
