Job Summary Performs MRI exams at a technical level that will require independent judgment. Monitors the quality of MRI exams, coordinates and supervises the workflow in the MRI department.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Graduate of AMA accredited school of radiologic technology.
Six months of supervised clinical MRI scanning experience and/or an associate degree in an allied health field or bachelor’s degree and certification in another clinical field with six months supervised clinical MRI scanning experience.
Candidate must be an individual that is reliable, has good knowledge of MRI positioning and technique.

License/Certifications
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered.
CPR certification and maintain certification.
MR registered preferred.
Essential Functions
Identifies patient by AMH policy, introduces himself/herself to patient.
Dresses patient according to procedure. Properly position patient into scanner and utilizes Radiologist approved required protocol for the exam.
Administers correct dosages of oral and IV contrast as required for each exam as required for optimal exam quality.
Properly acquires images that comply with departmental standards of high quality.
Explains imaging procedure to patient in terms they can understand, and documents patient teaching.
MRI room is properly prepared, neat orderly, and clean exemplifies professional appearance.
Identifies common clinical indications for imaging studies and notes discrepancies.
Understands and describes the proper procedural preps for each exam.
Assesses patient per imaging policies, appropriate completion of assessment forms.
Coordinates and organizes patient throughput in the MRI department to achieve customer satisfaction.
Keeps radiologist informed of history that may be pertinent to the completion of the exam.
Submits MRI Images for radiologist review with all required documentation.
Understands how to use Meditech system and completes all requirements to assure exams are correctly ordered and moved to the “Taken” Status.
Scans and documents all medications and allergies in Meditech as required by policy.
Knowledge of PACS system and how to operate make appropriate changes prior to sending to the Radiologist.
Make CDs, print CryptoChart forms and PowerShare images.
Performs Quality Control/Quality Assurance.
Actively looks for other duties to perform when patient volumes are down.
Goals from previous performance evaluation were met.
Vaccination Policy Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations (i.e., flu shot, etc.). All new employees working must be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment (unless the new hire has requested and received an exemption). Candidates for employment will be notified of this policy requirement prior to the start of employment. After receiving an offer of employment, new employees must provide proof of vaccination or request and receive an exemption before beginning work.
