Qualifications Required:
At least one year of recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
Valid ARRT or RCIS/RCES certification in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred:
Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Valid state Radiologic Technologist license
PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification
Additional relevant certifications or licenses
Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
Operate imaging equipment (fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound) to guide interventions
Assist physicians during sterile procedures – scrubbing in, passing instruments, maintaining sterile field
Monitor and document vital signs and procedural details
Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
Ensure radiation safety for patients, staff, and self
Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment readiness
Manage and restock procedural supplies (catheters, guidewires, contrast agents)
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members for seamless patient care
Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols
Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures
Perform additional duties as assigned to support IR lab operations
Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and effective interpersonal communication
Strong written and verbal communication in English
Basic computer proficiency
Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment, and handle 50–100 lbs loads
Professionalism and teamwork in a high‑acuity environment
Ability to work under pressure, with some supervision, and adapt to irregular schedules
Visual acuity and clear communication skills
