Job Title: Data Developer / Architect
Our customer is the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). They are modernizing clinical contact centers to provide Veterans with additional choices for meeting clinical, pharmacy, scheduling, and administrative needs. VA Health Connect offers Veterans and their caregivers immediate, 24/7, on-demand access to clinical and administrative services via phone, video, and VA Health Chat.
Salary Range $140,000 - $160,000 Annually based on experience and technical interview
Location 100% Remote

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data architectures and pipelines to support clinical and operational data needs.
Integrate data from multiple healthcare and call center systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
Build and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
Develop and maintain databases, data warehouses, and data lakes, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.
Implement data governance, quality assurance, and compliance standards across all data platforms.
Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver solutions that enable reporting and analytics.
Develop and deploy APIs and data services to enable secure access to data assets.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data-related issues, proactively identifying opportunities for system improvements.
Document data architecture, data flows, and technical specifications.
Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering, architecture, and cloud platforms.
Participate in project meetings, workshops, and stakeholder presentations as a technical subject matter expert.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
5-10 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, database development, or similar technical roles.
Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Proficiency in data pipeline development using tools such as SQL, Python, Spark, or ETL platforms.
Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure) and data warehousing solutions.
Knowledge of data modeling, data integration, and API development.
Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards in healthcare or regulated environments.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities, including technical documentation.
Skills
Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related discipline.
Experience in consulting, technology, or professional services environments.
Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka) and advanced analytics platforms.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for supporting analytics teams.
Knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and interoperability frameworks.
