The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team builds and manages a suite of massive‑scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi‑tenant cloud environment. Job Overview Observability is a core OCI team that delivers a world‑class Integrated Observability and Management platform for our customers. The platform combines Logging, Monitoring, Auditing, SIEM, Events, and other services to provide a unified view across OCI, other clouds, and on‑premises environments. We continue to innovate on each service, making them feature‑rich and seamlessly integrated, and we want smart, hands‑on engineers who can solve complex problems in distributed, highly available services and virtualized infrastructure.
Responsibilities We are looking for engineers with distributed systems expertise. You should have experience designing major features and launching them into production, operating high‑scale services, and making them more resilient. You will own projects, work on tasks independently, and guide other engineers in the team. The ideal candidate will own the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure, be a rock‑solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, dive deep into any part of the stack, value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. You will provide direction and mentoring to others.
Biggest Challenges The team is building brand new service features. The business’s dynamic growth drives us to build innovative technologies. We need engineers who can build services that reliably protect our customers’ cloud environment, keep up with fast‑paced updates, and contribute to Oracle Cloud’s overall growth.
Required Qualifications
BS or MS degree in Computer Science or relevant technical field involving coding or equivalent practical experience.
3–5 years of total experience in software development.
Demonstrated ability to write great code using Java, C#, C++ or similar object‑oriented languages.
Proven ability to deliver products and experience with the full software development lifecycle.
Experience working on large‑scale, highly distributed services infrastructure.
Experience working in an operational environment with mission‑critical tier‑one live site servicing.
Systematic problem‑solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and drive.
Experience designing architectures that demonstrate deep technical depth or span many products, enabling high availability, scalability, market‑leading features, and flexibility for future business demands.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Kafka, Apache Spark, Lucene, Kubernetes and other big data technologies.
Hands‑on experience developing and maintaining services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle).
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) languages, preferably Terraform.
Strong knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL).
