Linux Engineer

to join our Cybersecurity Engineering team in a 24/7/365 operational environment. The role includes supporting enterprise IT operations, responding to outages, resolving system issues, and maintaining secure systems for classified data. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision. In this role, you’ll work with the latest Red Hat Enterprise Linux technologies, automation tools, and cybersecurity practices to keep enterprise environments running smoothly and securely. Linux Engineer : $120,000 - $130,000 Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Serve as a primary escalation point for advanced technical issues, providing expert support via email and phone while managing service tickets and ensuring timely resolution tracking Monitor and maintain system/server infrastructure, including patching, upgrades, backups, and configuration. Perform root cause analysis and forensic triage to resolve server-related incidents. Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to design and evaluate secure systems. Integrate Microsoft Windows services with Linux/Unix systems. Develop and implement security systems to protect company data from unauthorized access or loss. Ensure compliance with industry best practices, standards, and procedures. Participate in ongoing professional development and certification training. Perform additional duties as assigned. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security, or related field; or 4 years of equivalent professional IT experience. Minimum 5 years of enterprise-level IT experience, with preferred expertise in Linux engineering and cybersecurity operations. Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent Proficient in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8/9: engineering, installation, administration, upgrades, and maintenance. Experience with Ansible Automation Platform for configuration management and system consistency. Skilled in Red Hat Satellite Server for RHEL lifecycle management. Strong scripting abilities in Bash, Perl, Python, etc. Familiarity with Postfix and Microsoft Exchange email systems. Knowledge of CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIG guidelines for Linux system hardening. Ability to assess and manage system changes and their security impact. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. Capable of presenting findings, solutions, and strategic recommendations clearly and effectively.
