Experience developing software in a Linux (preferably RHEL) environment
Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs
Active Secret clearance
Job Description What We’re Doing
Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation’s defense against ballistic missile attacks. The GMD Weapon System processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plan the best defensive solution, and launch intercepting missiles to negate the threat.
Your Work
Develop and support software for the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA’s) Ground-Based Mid‑course Defense (GMD) program.
Develop and implement software updates that meet evolving customer needs for new and existing features.
Collaborate with teammates and work in a cross‑functional agile scrum team.
Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems with logical and mathematical solutions.
Collaborate with other engineers to determine user needs, analyze system capabilities, resolve problems, and prepare operating instructions.
Ensure software standards are met and demonstrate thorough understanding of software development principles and related disciplines.
Support advanced portions of the software development lifecycle including requirements definition, integration, and deployment.
Prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results with limited oversight.
Apply systems thinking to ensure products are scalable, maintainable, and meet end‑user needs.
Communicate openly and effectively with teammates and customer representatives.
Work in a fast‑paced environment with high expectations and diverse assignments across disciplines.
Desired Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or related field
Missile Defense domain knowledge
Knowledge of SysUML
Familiarity with Atlassian and Agile software development practices
Security+ Certification
Active U.S. government DoD Top Secret clearance

Worksite: Huntsville, AL (Onsite Full‑time)
No telecommuting; employee must work on‑site
Work schedule: 9x80 every other Friday off
Security clearance required: Secret, active U.S. citizenship
Relocation/housing stipend available: Possible
Direct work contract: Direct
