About the Role We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Client Onboarding, with deep paid media expertise, to ensure new clients launch successfully and hit initial performance marketing goals. This is not a customer success or sales enablement position. Rather, it’s ideal for someone with hands‑on digital campaign management experience who enjoys operationalizing strategy and collaborating with media, analytics, and client teams. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of client service, digital strategy, and operations. This role will play a critical part in the first 3 months of client onboarding by supporting cross‑functional teams to ensure strategic alignment, strong client communication, and smooth internal processes.
Who Are We? Optimal is a performance marketing agency on a mission, bringing together the best data, technology, and people to achieve our clients’ marketing goals. Brand, campaign, or cause: we maximize performance at every moment. We are not only digital media strategists – we’re award‑winning industry leaders, with deep knowledge spanning all things digital: from advertising and paid media, to marketing and communications, to audience data and analytics, we deliver for our clients. Everyone at Optimal has the opportunity to learn, grow, and progress. Through our proprietary training programs, we provide our team members with the personal and professional development they need to achieve advancement at any stage in their careers. We’re always looking for exceptional people to join our team. If this sounds like you, please apply!
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

Coordinate kick‑off calls and internal alignment sessions across account, strategy, analytics, and media operations teams
Set and manage expectations for deliverables, timelines, and campaign launch milestones
Partner with digital marketing channel strategists to translate client goals into clear media objectives, KPI frameworks, and measurement plans
Collaborate with teams on onboarding decks, data requirements, tracking implementation, and early‑stage campaign strategy
Oversee pre‑launch QA processes to confirm readiness across tracking, creative, and media activation
Client Services & Internal Communication
Serve as the voice of the client during onboarding to ensure expectations are clearly communicated and met
Flag misalignment early and work cross‑functionally to resolve issues
Deliver internal onboarding scorecards for leadership — tracking account health, onboarding progress, and client sentiment
Analytics & Performance Tracking
Support conversion tracking audits and ensure foundational tracking is in place (via pixels, tags, UTM strategy, etc.)
Coordinate with analytics team and/or ad platforms to submit tickets, QA data, and track resolutions
Outline key KPIs and reporting structures that align with client goals
Ensure the account team is aligned on benchmarks, KPIs, and how performance will be measured
Support reporting team in structuring early Power BI or automated dashboards (no technical BI skills required)
Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements
5+ years of hands‑on experience in paid media marketing, with direct management of ad campaign setup, performance analysis, and the operational workflows.
3+ years of experience in a client‑facing role. Strong grasp of performance marketing KPIs (ROAS, CPA, CAC, etc.)
Proficiency in working cross‑functionally with account managers, data analysts, and platform specialists.
Deep understanding of Google Ads, Meta, Bing, and LinkedIn Ads; programmatic experience is a plus (DV360, StackAdapt, etc.)
Familiarity with common client CRMs (HubSpot, Salesforce) and offline conversion tracking flows.
Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
Proactive, resourceful, and solutions‑oriented — you anticipate roadblocks and find a way forward.
