Job Overview: The Director of Fundraising & Strategic Partnership is a key member of Accessity’s leadership team and the architect of the organization’s fundraising and partnership strategy. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will design, lead, and execute a multi‑channel development strategy to grow philanthropic revenue, expand institutional partnerships, and elevate Accessity’s regional and national visibility as an innovative, equity‑focused CDFI.

This is a high‑impact, hands‑on role for an accomplished development leader with a track record of securing six‑ and seven‑figure grants, cultivating strategic funder relationships, and building systems that drive growth and sustainability.

Responsibilities: Strategic Fundraising & Partnerships

Lead and implement an ambitious, diversified fundraising strategy to achieve annual goals in operating and program support.

Manage and forecast the organization’s full fundraising pipeline, including foundation, corporate, government, and individual donors.

Identify, cultivate, and secure new funding opportunities aligned with Accessity’s strategic priorities (AI innovation, inclusive lending, regional expansion).

Partner with the CEO and Board Development Committee to deepen relationships with major donors and institutional funders.

Represent Accessity externally at events, panels, and convenings to strengthen visibility and influence across the CDFI and philanthropic ecosystems.

Grant Management & Institutional Giving

Oversee the full lifecycle of grants and sponsorships—from proposal development and budgeting to reporting and stewardship.

Lead cross‑department collaboration to ensure timely, compliant, and compelling grant deliverables.

Maintain a portfolio of small‑ and mid‑sized grants while co‑leading large multi‑partner or multi‑year proposals with senior leadership.

Donor Relations & Campaigns

Develop and execute donor engagement campaigns, annual appeals, and special events that build loyalty and drive giving.

Oversee the creation of compelling impact narratives and collateral in partnership with Marketing and Impact teams.

Build and manage a mid‑level donor pipeline and support the CEO in major donor engagement.

Leadership & Team Development

Supervise and mentor a team of Development Specialists, fostering professional growth, accountability, and innovation.

Collaborate closely with the Marketing, Finance, and Impact teams to align messaging, budgets, and reporting.

Strengthen development infrastructure, CRM systems (Salesforce/Instrumentl), dashboards, and reporting processes, for data‑driven decision‑making.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.

Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising, including managing institutional and individual donor portfolios.

Proven success securing and managing six‑ and seven‑figure grants.

Exceptional relationship‑builder with the ability to communicate Accessity’s mission to diverse audiences—corporate, foundation, government, and community.

Strong leadership and supervisory skills with experience coaching high‑performing teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication, proposal writing, and storytelling abilities.

Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools and strong analytical reporting skills.

Based in Los Angeles (preferred), or Orange County; travel across the Southern California region required.

Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Considerations: Must have ability to work some irregular hours and must have own transportation. Local and regional travel required.

Benefits/Pay: We offer a warm, inviting work environment with a culture that values diversity and inclusion, innovation, integrity, accountability, and mindfulness, and offers a competitive pay and benefits package. Our team is driven by our mission to create social and economic justice for all.
