Computacenter is looking for a Senior Project Manager (UK) to support our Projects & Programmes Practice within the Group Professional Services (GPS) organisation. This role is based in our UK offices, including Hatfield, London, Manchester and Birmingham.
What You'll Do As a Senior Project Manager (SPM) you will be responsible for delivering complex and high‑risk end‑to‑end projects. You may manage multiple projects simultaneously or lead significant work‑streams on larger programmes, and you may also be required to lead a Project & Portfolio Management Office (PMO). Your responsibilities include setting the delivery approach, managing the project team, ensuring agreed deliverables are met, controlling risks and issues, and presenting to customers to support commercial outcomes.
Project Management:
Ensure adherence to our methodologies for Professional Services engagements throughout the project lifecycle.
Change Management:
Own or guarantee the end‑to‑end change process for the assignment, ensuring full stakeholder awareness and adoption of outcomes.
Business Management:
Align projects with customer requirements, deliver value, and complete work within scope, time and budget.
Contract Management:
Manage assignment scope and commercial baseline, and support negotiation and agreement of statement of work and subsequent changes.
Financial Management:
Deliver assignments to agreed financial baseline and meet or exceed key performance indicators.
Relationship Management:
Create and maintain positive relationships across Computacenter, suppliers and customers.
People Management:
Lead and shape the team to ensure successful delivery of your assignment.
What You'll Need
Familiarity with the latest technologies and the ability to articulate the benefits in line with Computacenter's propositions.
Trained and accredited in project management methodology, for example Prince2, Agile techniques.
A demonstrable track record of delivering complex, high‑risk assignments with successful outcomes.
Exposure delivering IT projects such as end‑user deployment, desktop and application virtualisation, software development, cloud and data centres, and networking & security.
Demonstrable leadership skills and personal gravitas.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
Able to apply a variety of influencing skills to enable the required outcomes for stakeholders.
Ability to apply emotional intelligence and flexibility to adapt style to customer needs and resolve conflicts.
Understand and articulate the wider context of the project you are leading.
Communicate the value of project management to internal and external customers.
Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
